  1. Skating under The Gardiner

I have three words for you, Skate, Skate, Skate! We all know, winter can’t be winter without skating at least one weekend of the season. This on- your- feet activity will have you smiling ear to ear. Come on December 16th to skate under the Gardiner Highway in prime downtown Toronto. Surrounded by lights and community, skating through life will become a reality. You don’t even need to bring your own skates! 10 dollars and yourself is all you need, and skates will be provided for you. This is not only available on December 16, this will also be offered after the holidays from January 8th- February 19th open on weekends and weekdays.

Check skating off your wish list and come join everyone starting on December 16th.

  1. Distillery

I don’t know about you but I love a good holiday market. This one is not new to Toronto and has been enjoyed by the city for many years. The distillery has been the ultimate location for holiday parties and events and exceeds expectations when it comes to the Christmas Market. Enjoyed by many families, the hot chocolate booths, crystal decoration shops, and beaver tails are just some unique components. Only 15 dollars is needed to enjoy this special night filled with lights. You never know, an opportunity for a holiday photo op or a chance to sing with elves and carollers may arise. This market can be a new Christmas or holiday destination and tradition for future years. Now go get your shopping on!

  1. Toronto Symphony Orchestra

Now, if you physically want to get away from the cold, snuggle and warm up at Roy Thomson Hall while listening to beautiful holiday music. Sing along and sway to music produced by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra accompanied by jazz vocalist and the Etobicoke School of the Arts Holiday Chorus. This event goes on from December 11 – night of December 13th. Instead of listening to classic holiday music on the radio, enjoy the beautiful range of instruments and the serene sounds of the violin and piano in front of your eyes. This might be stiffly priced, yet after experiencing live music you won’t regret it! Come see it, you don’t even have to bring a warm jacket!
