What’s better than celebrating Valentine’s Day with the ones you love? Watching rom-coms that make you feel like you’re third-wheeling! Today I will tell you all about which movies are worth it and why.
- How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is a hilarious rom-com about a woman who tries to make a guy break up with her within 10 days as a part of a magazine article experiment. However, the guy who she tries to pull away from her made a bet with his friends that he can last 10 days with 1 woman. As you can tell this definitely makes things interesting for the characters and is a movie that will make you laugh out loud. Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey deliver their roles in the movie flawlessly, overall giving a heart-touching feel to the story.
- Bride Wars
Bride Wars is another rom-com you should watch. However, this one leans more to the comedy side by being about 2 best friends who have their wedding ceremonies on the same day and pull pranks on each other for the other to switch their wedding date. Played by Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway, these two show how you can celebrate Valentine’s Day with your best friend and how sometimes in life we find a platonic soulmate. Overall this is a 5 star movie that will never get boring so you can rewatch it as many times as you’d like!
- 13 Going on 30
13 Going on 30 is a heartwarming and nostalgic film about a 13-year-old who suddenly changes into her 30-year-old self. Throughout the film, she realizes how she acted when she was 13 years old impacted her future self in a negative way. Throughout the movie, she also reconnects with her teenage best friend and they have a beautiful cute romance. This movie will make you want to get up and dance, especially in the party scene which everyone knows!
- The Notebook
The Notebook is a beautiful and emotional story about a young couple that faces many challenges and separations throughout their lives. However, in the end their true love shines bright, making them finally be together. This movie will make your heart melt and sometimes sob. I recommend this movie to anyone who wants a beautiful story with great acting by Rachel Mcadams and Ryan Gosling.
- The Proposal
The Proposal is a hilarious romantic comedy about a boss who convinces her assistant to marry her to stop her from being deployed. Played by Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, this movie is sure to make you laugh from all of the crazy silly scenes and even surprise you with a twist of love. I’ve watched this movie more than 10 times and I never get sick of it! One of my favourite movies, so I rate it 5 stars.
